LARVOTTO REGENERATION PROJECT
2016 – IN PROGRESS, MONACO, PRINCIPALITY OF MONACO
Since autumn 2016, RPBW started to work on the Larvotto beach front site which is situated further north. The current site is fragmented. It has become out of date and does not function outside the summer season. The new project unifies the Larvotto at beach-front level and equally at the Promenade-Princess Grace Avenue level which will become one public space of 15.000m². Besides the 10.000m² of restaurants, cafés and shops, the famous École Bleue takes a prominent position with other functions for children, creating a vibrant space which will attract people all year round. A light weight pergola covered with PVs follows the arch of the site over its full length giving shelter to the public. The avenue will be generously lined with a canopy formed by Mediterranean parasol pines.
